KJL Apt combines a small apartment with a utility area just below, offering additional space for an expanding family. Due to architectural idiosyncrasies, the only possible location for the convenience stair was directly in front of a window; by employing polycarbonate for the guardrails, stair infill, walls, and doors, we are able to bring much more light into the lower-level space and establish greater continuity between floors.
