Trump DMZ is a proposal designed for 5×5 : Participatory Provocations, a roving architectural exhibition. The model suggests that the easiest way to manage a border is to do away with it. Its design responds to the inhumanity surrounding the US-Mexico border and the calls for a wall to be built, seeking to manage the related crises by eliminating the countries’ border altogether.

Trump DMZ proposes a new, independent country, situated 25 feet on each side of the current US-Mexico border. Freeing the two nations from the responsibilities of border “”protection,”” the 50-foot-wide, 1,954-mile-long country becomes a development zone for the rich and famous. Accessible exclusively by air, only well-vetted millionaires are granted citizenship, and the new property claims both the highest income per capita and the highest real estate values in the world.
